Statistical Observation on Fracture of Pelvis

Abstract
This report include experiences of 170 cases of the pelvic fractures treated in Inje Medical College from Jan. 1st 1975 to Dec. 31st 1980.
1. The most common cause of these injuries was pedestrian car accident (81.0/0).
2. In sex distribution, male was 95 cases and female was 75 cases among the total 170 cases. Forty two cases were observed between 31-40 years of age.
3. The most common type was ipsilateral anterior and posterior lesion due to lateral compressive force (91 cases).
4. The associated injuries were shown in 126 cases of 170 cases, among which musculoskeletal system was most common (97 cases).
5. Among the 170 cases 10 cases died (5.9%). Its cause were hypovolemic shock, sepsis and associated brain injury.
